How to Get a Removal Quote from Giga in Two Minutes
How to get a removal quote from Giga: starting the chat, which quote type you get, and how to read the price.
Published 16 October 2026 · Updated 18 October 2026

Giga is the chat assistant on every page of our website. Describe the job in a sentence or two and Giga replies with a price from our published price list.
This guide covers how to start, the three quote types, what the price covers, and how to get an accurate answer in one reply.
Key takeaways
- Press “Ask Giga” on any page.
- Giga gives one of three quote types: hourly, price range, or a quote by email.
- A Small Transit and driver is £55 an hour, 2-hour minimum (£110).
- A large home or an office needs a survey before we confirm a fixed figure.
- A photo of the stairs or the parking often answers the access question before you type it.
Step 1: Start the chat
Press “Ask Giga” at the bottom of any page. The chat opens and you can start typing.
If you sign in with your email, the chat is saved, so you can come back to the same quote later.
Step 2: Describe the job in one message
Say what you are moving and where. For example: “Two-bed flat in Westminster to a house in Bristol, third floor, no lift, van can park on the street.”
Giga picks the quote type that fits. For how Central London congestion and ULEZ rules affect a quote, see our ULEZ and congestion charge guide.
What to include in your first message
Both postcodes, the size (studio to five bed, or office), the floor and lift at each address, where the van can park, and your date. With those six details Giga can price the job in one reply.
Step 3: Understand the three quote types
Each quote type fits a different kind of job.
- Hourly: a single room, a few boxes or a small load. A Small Transit with a driver is £55 an hour, 2-hour minimum (£110).
- Price range: for work that depends on access. A furniture hoist, for example, is £150 to £280. We narrow it once we see the access.
- Quoted by email: larger homes and offices. Giga passes the details to the team, because the job needs a survey before a fixed price.
| Quote type | Best for | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Hourly | Single room, few boxes, small load | Van, crew and hourly rate from the price list |
| Price range | Hoisting and access-dependent work | A low and high figure, narrowed once access is checked |
| Quoted by email | Large home or full office | A survey and a fixed price by email |
Step 4: Check what the price covers
Every quote includes the van and crew at the hourly rate. Mileage is charged one way, collection to delivery, at the van’s per-mile rate. Stairs are £10 per person per flight for each hour at that address; the ground floor is free and a working lift removes the charge. No weekend, evening, bank holiday or ULEZ premium.
Quoted separately and agreed before the day: packing and materials, dismantling and reassembly, hoisting, storage and any council parking suspension.
The minimum booking
You book whole hours, with a minimum of 2 for a Small Transit or Transit LWB and 3 for a Luton or lorry. That covers arriving, loading, the journey, unloading and parking. If the job runs over, extra time is charged at the same hourly rate in 30-minute steps.
Step 5: Get a faster, more accurate answer
Give Giga these in your first message and it can price the job without follow-up questions.
- The floor at each address, and whether there is a lift.
- Where the van can park, and whether you need a parking suspension.
- How many hours you expect, or ask Giga to suggest them.
- Both postcodes.
A photo of a staircase or a parking spot often answers the access question on its own.
Step 6: Decide what to do next
If the price suits you, press Book on the price card in the chat. If you want to think about it, the quote stays in your saved chat.

Frequently asked questions
It is built from our price list. The final figure depends on how long the job takes, access at both addresses and the items. If we need to check something, we tell you before the day.
Yes. Photos of the items and the access route make the quote more accurate. Do not send photos of passports, bank cards or other documents.
No. If you sign in with your email, the same code covers the chat, the booking page and My bookings.
No. Giga does not take payment. You pay by bank transfer after the job, and there is no deposit.
