Postcodes and neighbourhoods we cover daily
We move people in, out of and around Ilford regularly. The crew plans the parking, the lift and the route before the van leaves, and sizes the van so the job is done in one trip.
Local moves use the same published rate card as the rest of London. Mileage is charged one way from collection to delivery, so a short hop within Redbridge or the surrounding IG and RM postcodes adds very little.
| Van & crew | Per hour | Minimum booking |
|---|---|---|
| Small Transit, driver only | £55 | £110 (2 hours) |
| Small Transit, 2-person crew | £75 | £150 (2 hours) |
| Luton Box Van, 3-person crew | £130 | £390 (3 hours) |
| Furniture hoisting | £150–£280 depending on floor and access | |
Journeys within Redbridge are short, so most local moves finish inside the minimum plus an hour or two. A one-bedroom flat moving from Ilford Lane to Seven Kings with a small van and a 2-person crew typically runs £225 to £300 before mileage and any stairs. A three-bedroom house within IG2 is usually a four to five hour day.
Most of IG2 and IG6 is 1930s semi-detached stock: decent hallways, a driveway or a wide verge for the van, and a loft that has been filling up since the family moved in. Loft and garage contents are the thing to flag when you book, because they routinely add an hour.
Older houses split into flats mean shared stairwells, half-landings and no lift. We protect the communal route as standard, and where a sofa will not make the turn at the top of the stairs we hoist it through a window instead.
The Crossrail-era blocks around the station have loading bays, service lifts and concierge desks. The lift usually needs booking in advance and the bay is time-limited. Tell us the building name and we will tell you what that block normally requires.
Much of central Ilford sits inside a controlled parking zone, and Redbridge Council handles bay suspensions for removals. Give as much notice as you can — a few working days is usually enough, but the week either side of a bank holiday fills quickly. Outside the CPZ, on the residential roads off Eastern Avenue and around Barkingside, a driveway or a neighbour holding a space is normally all that is needed.
Ilford is inside the ULEZ zone. We absorb the charge; it never appears on your bill. The congestion charge does not apply unless your move crosses into central London on a weekday.
Plenty of Ilford moves are local. Others go in or out: Stratford, Canary Wharf and Hackney for people heading towards work, Romford, Hornchurch, Brentwood and further into Essex for space, and longer moves to anywhere in the UK. All of them are priced on the same hourly card, plus mileage one way at the van's per-mile rate, with no weekend or evening premium.
Most delays on an Ilford move are predictable: turnings off Eastern Avenue a Luton cannot make, school-run traffic at half three, and blocks near the station that insist on a booked service lift. We plan for all three before the day, so the crew starts on time and the hours stay down.
The same published rates as everywhere else we work: £55 an hour for a small van and driver and £75 an hour with a 2-person crew (2-hour minimum, so from £110 and £150), and £130 an hour for a Luton with a 3-person crew (3-hour minimum, £390). Mileage is charged one way and stairs are charged where there is no lift. Local Ilford moves are often short, so many finish inside the minimum plus an hour.
Often, yes. Book, or ask Giga in the chat, and we will tell you what is free today.
All of them, IG1 to IG8, plus Chadwell Heath, Romford, Barking and Dagenham. Beyond that we cover every London borough and the rest of the UK on the same rate card.
Only if your street is in a controlled parking zone, which covers much of the town centre. Redbridge Council handles suspensions for removals — give us a few working days' notice and we will arrange it.
No. Ilford is inside the ULEZ zone and we absorb the charge. It never appears on your invoice.
Yes. Where a staircase turn or a narrow doorway makes it impossible, the crew hoists the item through a window or over a balcony using proper rigging, from £150 depending on floor level and street access.
Book in two minutes. No deposit, you pay after the job.
